Connected Learning Online Ubiquitous Design

Welcome to the CLOUD!!

The principle behind the “CLOUD” is that any computer or device that is connected to the Internet is also connected to the same pool of applications and resources, available 24/7.   No software needed, the student does not have to be on the New Rochelle school computer network, but could connect from home, the public library, or from a cell phone or mobile device with Internet access.

The City School District of New Rochelle's Mobile Learning on the GO Pilot Grant vision was to narrow the digital divide in our urban/suburban school District and increase student achievement in reading and writing by providing off-premise, ubiquitous, 24/7 wireless Internet access through mobile devices with data plans. Our two year grant funding ended in June 2013, but we can still offer students in grades 3-12, safe, secure, monitored email accounts and all the resources inside our Google for Education CLOUD virtual environment with our Google Chromebook carts in classrooms.

The long term goal is to increase student achievement in the curriculum areas of reading, writing, and research skills and provide 21st century resources for college and career readiness for our students in grades 3 - 12.
